What happens when one person tries to take advantage of a prophetic vision hundreds of years old? It has unintended consequences that echo through the ages...
Way City has been flourishing for generations despite the increasing conflict between the upper class of Peers and the rest of the population. Faction altercations are on an uptake and no one can figure out who to blame, though some like to say the tension between genetically-engineered humans and the organically born is at fault.
When internal issues within the city come to a head under the guise of faction wars, two brothers are drawn into the conflict. One brother's prophetic warning, and the past they can't remember, could be the catalyst that ignites the biggest disaster of their generation.
The choices they and their companions make just might determine the rise and fall of an entire civilization. The path they take will either free them from a past they didn't choose or bury them all under the weight of a future that seems written in blood.

When the Stones Cry (Working Title)

  (Epic fantasy/gunpowder fantasy)

  (Work In Progress)

Set in a fictional world based off mid- to late 1800s America; a group of companions search for what's left of a lost religion, hoping to bring balance back to a world headed inexorably towards darkness.

Full of rich mythology both based on real myths and from the mind of M.C. Hutton, 'When the Stones Cry' explores what happens when a world forsakes love and morality for self and pleasure. Hope after failure, redemption despite one's past, and finding one's purpose in the world.

Join Taggart, Peregrin, Court, and many other rich characters as they maneuver this world of mythical creatures and old magic, searching for a truth long buried by a theocratic government.
